Sex is Overrated:

A comedy debate for young people (both men and women) aged 15-30 incorporating safe-sex and respect messages

The show delivers sexual health promotion messages in a fun, respectful and informative manner in a similar vein to The Condom Dialogues and The No Means No Show. However, unlike those shows, this one if for a mixed gender audience and has a debate format.

The debate runs in a traditional manner with 3 speakers for the affirmative and 3 for the negative with Nelly as the moderator in the middle. Debaters are a mixture of health professionals and comedians who deliver messages about safe sex and consent while also being entertaining. Nelly ensures that the health messages are reiterated and reinforced throughout the debate, with a special focus on Chlamydia.

Review of the show:

"We were all ecstatic with how the Sex is Overrated debate went. It was a brilliant example of how comedy can be the perfect medium for conveying health messages to young people. All feedback was extremely positive with numerous cases of sore cheeks and stomachs from so much laughing."
